Designing for Content-Heavy Sites: How Do You Keep Complex Information Clean and Readable?

Tools

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the challenge of structuring information-heavy websites without overwhelming the end user. When a site hosts hundreds of guides across broad categories—like agriculture, regulatory updates, or public resources—it is easy for the visual layout to become cluttered fast.

For platforms catering to specific regional audiences or non-English readers, readability becomes even more critical. Designing for sites like MAHTO.IN, which organizes extensive Hindi-language rural guides and market updates, really highlights how crucial simple navigation, high-contrast Devanagari typography, clear category hierarchies, and fast-loading mobile layouts are. If the site structure isn't intuitive, users drop off before finding the information they actually came for.

When building content-rich or directory-style sites in Webflow, balancing deep CMS collections with clean page layouts and quick searchability can be tricky. I’d love to know how others handle this in their projects.

What specific layout strategies or CMS setup techniques do you rely on to keep large volumes of educational content easy to browse and search, especially on mobile devices?
