How would you structure a local events and city guide website?

Others

I’m exploring how to structure a Webflow website that combines local event discovery with city guides and travel information.

A platform like this could serve several types of visitors. Someone might be looking for events happening this weekend, while another person may be planning a trip and searching for places to visit, food experiences, nightlife, workshops, or cultural activities.

The content could include:

  • Local events and festivals

  • Concerts and comedy shows

  • Workshops and business events

  • Family activities

  • Restaurants and food experiences

  • Places to visit

  • Shopping and local markets

  • Cultural and heritage attractions

  • Nightlife

  • Weekend trips

From a Webflow CMS perspective, I’m interested in how others would organize this type of website.

For example, would you create separate CMS collections for events, venues, categories, attractions, and city guides, and then connect them with reference fields? Or would you keep the structure simpler to make content management easier?

Another challenge would be creating useful filters for event type, location, date, and venue while keeping the experience simple on mobile.

For anyone who has built a local directory, event platform, or travel website in Webflow:

How would you structure the CMS and navigation for this type of project?
